My Counseling Background

I retain a biopsychosocial perspective and apply a strengths-based approach with clients while blending evidence-based theory into practice.  I possess intensive clinical training in Integrative and Systemic Psychotherapy via The Family Institute at Northwestern’s empirically informed Integrative Problem-Centered Metaframeworks (IPCM) framework.  I also have specialized training in Mindfulness-based practices including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Dialectical Behavior Therapies (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), Meditation, Retreat Management, and other Holistic healing modalities. Prior to private practice, I was the first Clinical Program Fellow at The Family Institute at Northwestern University with specialization in Mindfulness and Behavior Therapies (balancing varied levels of acceptance and change).

I am a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), clinical member of Illinois Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (IAMFT), clinical member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT), clinical member of Orange County Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (OC CAMFT), clinical member of Association of Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), and clinical member of Chicago chapter of Association of Contextual Behavioral Science.

I have an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University, and also a certified Life Coach from Southwest Institute of Healing Arts.  I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in the state of Illinois (#166.001050), California (#120037), Hawaii (#MFT-628), and Oregon (#T2011).
